I’m Kate

I have been a journalist for more than 30 years – and I have edited numerous publications, including booklets and magazines.

I have also been writing fiction since I was a child and I love inspiring others to write too.

I have had many poems, short stories and flash fiction pieces published, as well as a 10,000-word Gothic novella.

I also self-published a travel memoir to raise thousands of pounds for an Isle of Wight hospice.

I hold a BA Hons in Writing and Publishing from Middlesex University, North London, and an HND in Journalism from Harlow College, Essex.

I also have an Introduction to Teaching Creative Writing certificate from Manchester Metropolitan University.

I am currently studying for my MA in Creative Writing online with Arts University Bournemouth, which I am due to finish in September 2026.

I am available for freelance journalism and content work, as well as collaborating on creative writing projects. I am also working on my first novel.
